“WE INTER-ARE” means that we are very deeply connected to each other, to our planet and to all things. We cannot just be by ourselves, we can only inter-be / inter-are ... with all people and all things. This is also known as interbeing.

“To open our heart is to open our mind —
To be open that we are wrong,
To be open that others are right,
To clearly see with collective eyes.”

Raindrops fall from the sky -
My tears of joy have blossomed.
Flowers have transformed my landscape…
From a desert to a place of beauty.
Ten years and more have passed now -
Since I walked in this dry and dusty land.
Like a beggar looking for a glass of cool water,
Like a ship that has lost sight of land.
One wave of belief in my natural beauty,
Has set the magic in motion…
A million seeds that have laid dormant,
Carpets a rainbow to the horizon!
I wish that happiness is our destiny,
And the here and now is our meeting place.
Deserts are rich with flowers my friend,
And flowers... they are dormant within deserts.

Brick by brick my house is being built,
From bricks that cannot be purchased.
These are special bricks of letting go,
Brick of love and understanding.
The roof may leak - this is true!
And drafts may blow through frequently,
The door is broken and swings wildly,
Yet still new bricks are being laid solidly.
We are more solid by connecting,
Reflecting on our various discriminations,
Taking care of ourselves and others,
And not constantly worrying.
In time, our house will become less flimsy,
And our home become warm and cosy.
For each mindful brick that we place,
Is a foundation that is built lovingly.

To help a little…
In the context of our life,
Is to hold our good intentions close…
And not let it die.
To nurture it and let it flourish,
To give it conditions to grow.
To attend to it and not forget,
To watch as it flowers beautifully so.
As it breathes life into our words,
As it paints a picture in our mind,
As it changes the colours of our world,
As it transforms us day and night.
To open our heart is to open our mind —
To be open that we are wrong,
To be open that others are right,
To clearly see with collective eyes.

Every good action that I see -
I greet them joyfully.
They are beautiful seeds,
They are beautiful flowers.
My heart opens a little -
Like lotus petals unfolding.
Flowers are appearing inside,
Flowers are appearing outside.

Last but not least this website is dedicated to my family and my friends - thank you for your love, kindness and support. We all inter-are.
May the words that I have shaped and fashioned here… bring you enjoyment and inspiration. May they be useful to you as materials for further reflection. Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you will gain benefit from your visit. 🙏
Dedication to the ‘natural’ world:
This website is also dedicated to all the species and “non-living” elements that are not able to directly voice themselves in English or any other language. May the little that I offer here benefit our Natural World.
Thanks for visiting,
🙏 Luan

About We Inter-Are —
I created these poems for sharing,
I crafted these words for exploring.
I wanted to affirm our good nature,
And share a world most amazing…
Some reflections on interbeing,
On compassion and suffering,
Reflections on various topics,
As well as spontaneous feelings.
To dabble in some awakening,
To discover our discriminations,
To recognise our world of labelling,
Observe our world of impermanence.
It is a chance to reflect on kindness,
On compassion and life’s struggles.
On how we are all deeply connected…
To absolutely everything.
To explore the walls of the mind,
And the barriers of our heart.
How we are not so different after all -
This amazing world of interbeing.
Come explore the nature of words,
And the nature of their meaning.
How the mind runs on endlessly,
Forever swinging , forever moving.
Come and reconnect to nature,
Open our eyes to what is happening.
To hear silent cries of suffering,
From our planet and all beings.
Let us also discover real treasures…
Like our amazing nature of kindness.
Places of love and understanding,
And the joy of mindful breathing.
It is to share with you some gentle steps,
Along flowered paths of awakening.
To take you to dark places of war,
To the place where bombs are falling.
To a land where light is shining,
To many people who are smiling.
To the peace residing within,
To our home of gentle calming.
In these words that are strung together,
Let us go on a fascinating journey.
To a realm that includes all the stars,
To our heart of love and understanding.
